David Zaval, President (IL & WI – portions)
Dave purchased The Whittemore Co. in 2001 and is its fourth owner since the company’s founding in 1918. He has more than 40 years of manufacturing industry experience. These include six years as a tool/mold maker, 13 years as a sales and technical representative and 11 years as an executive manager for an industrial distributor. Dave also takes pride in being a family man and has been married since 1983. Besides his wife, Marianne, his family includes two married daughters, their husbands and a granddaughter. Dave and his family reside in a northwest suburb of Chicago. In his leisure time, Dave enjoys riding his bicycle, motorcycle, and golf.
Laina Ferraresi, Office Manager/Administrator
Laina recently joined The Whittemore Co., in 2018. She is responsible for all sales support, principals’ invoices, literature orders, phones, commission reconciliations, travel arrangements, and many other office responsibilities. Laina brings more than 25 years of office management, sales, and administrative experience to Whittemore. She is a graduate of Arizona State University. Laina has been married for 19 years to her husband, Lou, and has one son. Laina’s family resides in the Northwest Suburbs of Chicago. In her free time, she enjoys going to rock concerts, boating, watching her son play sports, swimming, the beach in Florida, baking and spending quality time with friends and family.
Mike Dulmes, Sr. Sales and Applications Engineer (WI & U.P. of MI)
Mike has been with The Whittemore Co. since 2003. Mike is responsible for all sales & technical issues, customer support, project management, and troubleshooting within his account base. He brings to Whittemore over 20 years experience having been a tool & die maker, process engineer, and shop foreman, as well as 10 years as a factory sales & technical representative for a German cutting tool manufacturer. Mike is married and his family resides in southeastern Wisconsin. He has seven children as well as nine grandchildren. Mike enjoys various activities such as running, biking, boating, and fishing during his spare time.
Kurt Wasieleski, Sales and Applications Engineer (MN, SD, & ND)
Kurt has been with The Whittemore Co. since June 2011. He is responsible for all sales & technical issues, customer support, project management, and troubleshooting within his account base. He brings to Whittemore more than 20 years of manufacturing experience including several years as a journeyman machinist. He also has experience as a sales and applications engineer for a major carbide cutting tool manufacturer and an industrial distributor. Kurt, his wife and three sons reside in western Wisconsin. In his spare time, Kurt enjoys spending time with his sons, working on old muscle cars, and rebuilding tractors.
Tony Malloy, Sales and Applications Engineer (IA, NE, & IL – portions)
Tony started with Whittemore on September 3, 2019. He is the go-to person for all sales, customer support and technical needs in the Iowa and Nebraska territory. Tony spent 10 years of his career in the shop as a tool maker, then worked for a tooling/accessory distributor in Iowa as an outside sales engineer. Tony then spent 8 years with a cutting tool manufacturer working with end-users and distribution before working for a distributor of instrumentation and fluid power. With The Whittemore Co., he is now back to the manufacturing industry, which is his passion. Tony lives in the Iowa City area with his wife and two children. In his free time, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends at the lake.
Mike Flannery, Sales and Applications Engineer (IL & IN)
Mike has been with Whittemore since 2012. Mike is responsible for all sales and technical issues, customer support, project management, and troubleshooting within his account base. Mike brings to Whittemore 14 years of technical sales and service experience. He has shop floor application and sales experience with a proven track record. Originally from Limerick, Ireland, where he was a tool and die maker, Mike has been in the U.S. since 1995 and resides in the Chicagoland area. He and his wife have two children. In his spare time, Mike enjoys sports, running and spending time with his family.
OPEN POSITION, Marketing & Sales Support Coordinator
The Whittemore Co. is currently searching for a highly motivated and dedicated new team member to work in supporting our sales force and continually developing our marketing and social media presence. The ideal candidate will have experience in marketing, market development and identification, CRM management, creating and distributing press releases, trade show organization and execution, be highly proficient at varying marketing techniques and social media including developing content and maximizing engagement. This position includes a lot of work with MS Excel, so the incumbent must be highly skilled in the use of all aspects of analyzing data and maximizing our ability to utilize these data. Brandon Crocker, Sales and Applications Engineer (KS & MO)
Brandon started with Whittemore on January 1, 2018. He is responsible for all sales and technical issues, customer support, project management, and troubleshooting within his account base. Brandon brings to Whittemore more than 22 years of manufacturing experience including 10 years as a journeyman tool & die maker, and 12 years in sales for workholding manufacturing, industrial distribution, and tooling manufacturing. Brandon resides in Lincoln, Nebraska, with his wife and children. In his spare time, Brandon enjoys riding motorcycles, fishing and watching professional motor sports.
